Mildred
Louise Moore, 72, of Blackwell, Oklahoma passed
away Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Galichia Heart
Hospital, Wichita, Kansas. She was born May 23,
1938 in Carman, Oklahoma to William and Viola
Pearl (Barber) Barber.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 29,
2010 at 10:00 am in the Blackwell Funeral Home
Chapel Blackwell, OK. with Dr. Lonnie Rutherford
officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm in
the Waynoka Cemetery, Waynoka, OK. Arrangements
are under the direction of the Blackwell Funeral
Home, Blackwell, Oklahoma.
Mildred graduated from Waynoka High School in
1958 and married Perry Elsworth Cook, Jr. May
23, 1958. After graduation she attended Nursing
school for a year in Denver, Colorado. Later in
life she received her CNA certificate from
Hutchins, Kansas nursing home. She worked for
many years in a nursing home and loved caring
for her elderly patients. After moving to
Blackwell she volunteered and then later worked
for four years for the Wheatheart Nutrient
Center in Blackwell, Ok.
Mildred had a number of foster kids when she
lived in Wellington, Kansas and a exchange
student, Max Frosch from Jana, Germany after she
moved to Blackwell.
Mildred was a welcome member at the 1st Assembly
of God Church in Blackwell. She received several
achievement awards and served in the church. She
is currently a faithful member of the Bethsada
Full Gospel Church of Blackwell.
She enjoyed fishing and hunting along with
boating. She loved the out doors and teaching
her grandkids to also enjoy. Her greatest joy
was caring for her grandkids and her pets.
The family would like to send a special thanks
to Dr. Neel and the staff at Galichia Heart
Hospital in Wichita, Kansas for their care the
last twelve years.
Survivors include her sons, Billy Cook and his
wife, Judy of Blackwell, OK, Danny Cook and
wife, Nancy of Cheyenne, OK, Bobby Cook and his
wife, Brenda of So. Heaven, Kansas; her brother,
Alvin Barber and wife Iva, Shattuck, OK.; three
sisters, Rozella Lingle and husband, Alvin of
Stockton, MO, Luella Lee and husband, Jim of
Olathe, KS, Lillie Mae Burnidge her husband,
Roger of Alva, OK; ten grandchildren, ten great
grand children and two great great grandchildren
and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her
parents, two brothers, Clifford and Lester
Barber and a sister, Velma Dittmar.
