James Robert Huff, 74,
of Blackwell, Oklahoma passed away Thursday,
September 24, 2009 at his residence in Blackwell,
Oklahoma. He was born January 15, 1935 at his
parent’s country home in Ponca City, Oklahoma to
Daniel Earl and Kate Alice (Fields) Huff.
He request to be
cremated and a private family memorial service will
be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the
direction of the Blackwell Funeral Home.
James grew up in Ponca
City, Oklahoma, attending a country school in the
Ponca City area.
James married his
wife, Carolyn Sue (Klinger) Huff on July 25, 1958
and celebrated forty two years together before she
preceded him in death in 2000.
James and his family
moved to Caldwell, Kansas in 1969 before moving to
Renfrow, Oklahoma in 1974. In 1979 they moved to
Blackwell, Oklahoma where they made their home.
He served in the
United State Air Force and was stationed in Germany.
He was released with an Honorable Discharge in
January 1962 receiving a Good Conduct Medal, Army of
Occupation Medal in Germany, and a National Defense
Service Medal.
James enjoyed working
as a cattle and wheat farmer. He was a member of the
VFW.
Survivors included his
three sons, James Bradley Huff of Blackwell, OK,
John Earl Huff of Dallas, TX, Justin Jerome Huff of
Blackwell, OK; one sister, Edith Mowder.
He was preceded in
death by his wife, Carolyn Sue Huff; his parents,
Daniel and Kate Huff; a sister, Joann Anderson; and
a brother, John Huff.
