Donald
“Don” Lester Riff Sr., 60, of Blackwell, Oklahoma
passed away Monday, January 4, 2010 at DVA Medical
Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born
August 26, 1949 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont to Charles
and Ruby (Holloway) Riff.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 8,
2010 at 10:00 am in the Blackwell Funeral Home
Chapel with Minister, Lanny Jobe officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the
Blackwell Funeral Home, Blackwell, Oklahoma.
Donald moved to Oklahoma when he was five years old.
He grew up and graduated from the Nowata High
School.
He married Rena Riff on June 20, 1970 after being
high school sweethearts. They would have celebrated
forty years of marriage this year.
Donald work fab works most of his life while working
numerous places in the surrounding area. He also
worked for Paige Milk and Farm Fresh as a driver and
also worked at Osage Oil.
Survivors include his wife, Rena of the home; one
son, Donald Lester Riff Jr. of Blackwell, Oklahoma;
one daughter, Davene Forsyth and her husband, Wade
of Blackwell, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Garrett Riff,
Todd Forsyth; his mother Ruby Elnera Holloway; three
sisters, Gloria Begbie of Jones, Oklahoma, Carol
Hicks and her husband, Joe of Pond Creek, Oklahoma,
Sharon Haynes of Medford, Oklahoma; two brothers,
Herb Riff Sr. and his wife, Mable of Blackwell,
Oklahoma, Charles Riff Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles
Watkins Riff.
