Clayton Orr Patterson, 97, of Blackwell, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Integris Blackwell Regional Hospital, after a long illness.  He was born August 6, 1911 in Nardin, OK to Sylvester and Nellie (Gibson) Brown.

Clayton request to be cremated and there will be a memorial service at a later time.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Blackwell Funeral Home, Blackwell, Oklahoma. 

Clayton grew up in the Nardin area. He then married Rosetta Tipton on June 9, 1962 in Blackwell.

He worked in many types of employment fields from smelter, cheese factory and car dealerships, where he retired from in 1984. He attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses were he was very happy and proud to have had a part in building the new Kingdom Hall in Blackwell.

He loved to attend the steam engine shows in Pawnee, OK. He loved trains, to work in his garden, he was very fond of cats, but most of all he loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Orr E. Patterson of Denver CO, Louis Patterson of Stillwater OK, and Maurice Patterson of Blackwell OK; five daughters, Maurice Hess of McAllen, TX, Rosa Davis of Enid OK, Elsie Stump of Enid OK, Loretta Ory of Chickasha OK, Georgia Lively of Blackwell OK; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Eddie Oswald.

Memorials may be made to the Blackwell Funeral Home, 301 W. Blackwell Ave. Blackwell, OK 74631 to help off set the funeral expense.
