Betty J. Day of Newkirk, Okla., died July 7, 2010, at her residence. Betty was born in Tulsa, Okla., where she grew up. She and her husband, Charles Middleton Day, eventually found their way to Newkirk, where they produced oil and raised Thoroughbred race horses. He died on Oct. 13, 1990.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Sandy Beard, of Tulsa, Okla., her grandson, Scott L. Brown, of Dallas, Texas, and granddaughters, Stormie and Dawn Hunter of Oklahoma.

Her youngest daughter, Ginger Day Brown, died in 2008. Charles Leighton Brown, her oldest grandson, died in 1992. Siblings Bill and Gloria preceded her in death as well.

As an avid animal lover, it will bring Betty comfort to know her dogs, Bentley and Dusty, will be moving to Dallas where they will be loved and spoiled.
